Welcome to episode #29 of Everyday Enchantment!

Do you consider yourself creative? Some people would answer YES and others would probably say DEFINITELY NOT. But what if these labels and ideas of what creativity is — and who has it— have not served us well and in fact, aren’t even true? Maybe you’ve gotten to a place in your life where you’ve taken up gardening, started making new recipes in your kitchen or dabbled in writing out some poems or stories because you couldn’t not do it any longer.

Creativity is the language of the soul– and we’ve all got it. It may just look different in all of us– and that’s where a lot of the fun is hiding. The place where intuition gets to be front and center in our expression instead of our head’s intent.

In today’s episode, Stacey jams with novelist and creative Amy Bernstein about how we can reclaim those creative parts of us and do it in a way where we let go of the rules and have more fun experimenting.

Stacey and Amy explore what it means to find your creative center & express it– especially for those of us seeking to explore this side of ourselves in mid-life and later.

More about Amy: Amy writes novels, plays, poems and hybrid forms of fiction that explore the intersection of politics and culture. Some of her work is realistic, some is experimental. Throughout her life, she has done many things, all of them involving writing– including being a journalist, speechwriter, communications director, and grant-writing trainer.

Amy’s books include The Potrero Complex, The Nighthawkers, Dreams of Song Times, and Fran, The Second Time Around. She’s also a certified nonfiction book coach.
